Bulagarian Association of Asset Management Companies

The Bulgarian Association of Asset Management Companies (BAAMC) was founded by 8 asset management firms on Nov 30, 2004 as the first professional association of securities portfolio managers in Bulgaria. Currently 18 licensed asset management companies are members of the association, and 2 more have made steps toward membership. Thus BAAMC incorporates the predominant part of the industry – the majority of Bulgarian asset managers (a total number of 26).

Central Depositary AD

Central Depository AD (CDAD) was established as a joint-stock company on the 13th of August 1997, under the terms of Art. 91 of the Securities, Stock Exchanges and Investment Intermediaries Law (SSEIIL). CDAD Shareholders are the major Bulgarian commercial banks that play an active role in the securities market.


Financial supervision commission

The Financial Supervision Commission (FSC) was established on March 1st, 2003 under the Financial Supervision Commission Act. It is an institution that is independent from the executive authority and reports its activity to the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. The Commission is a specialized government body for regulation and control over the financial system which unifies the regulatory functions that used to be carried out by the former State Securities Commission, the State Insurance Supervision Agency and the Insurance Supervision Agency. The primary function of the institution is to assist through legal, administrative and informational means for the maintenance of stability and transparency on the investment, insurance and social insurance markets.
